Naturals REMEDIES - Botanical Traditions Reinterpreted

At the beginning of the 20th century, pharmacies were the place where consumers bought their skin and body care products. The pharmacists took a lot of time to talk about personal beauty rituals and preferences and, based on this, developed customized formulas to meet the needs of the individual. These formulas were based on high-quality plant extracts from the medicinal herb garden. Today, natural cosmetics are still very popular with consumers and have developed from a niche product into a consistent market driver.

Idea and concept

"Inspired by the craftsmanship of pharmacists, we have developed our new Naturals REMEDIES bodycare line," says Michaela Gonzalez, Brand Manager at ADA. Naturals REMEDIES is a collection that reinterprets the decades-old tradition of "handmade" cosmetics made from medicinal herbs. "And because we want only the best for our customers and their guests in accordance with pharmaceutical tradition, we have tested a wide variety of recipes, rejected ideas, further developed others and finally selected the most promising formulas. You can see how many different formulas we have developed from the number on the label," laughs Ms. Gonzalez.

The extracts

The care series combines proven organic grade plant extracts: for example, sage (Salvia officinalis). An aromatic smelling half shrub from the Mediterranean area that thrives in dry locations. Sage was already known in antiquity for its healing effect and was used in cosmetic products from early times. The plant is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances, which is why it is said in the literature to have nurturing properties for skin and hair. Combined with nettle (Urtica diocia) or black currant (Ribes nigrum), this cosmetic series gently cleanses skin and hair and provides an extra portion of moisture. Nettle is said to have an anti-inflammatory and astringent effect. It can aid in stimulating the scalp to promote hair growth or counteract the formation of dandruff, for example. Black currants, on the other hand, are real power fruits with a lot of vitamin C and essential fatty acids. They care for skin and hair.

The high proportion of plant-based ingredients guarantees a minimum of 95% biodegradability of the products for a more sustainable production and use.

The fragrance

The natural composition gives rise to a good mood with a sparkling, Calabrian bergamot in the top note – the perfumers' favorite; its fragrance is clear and fresh. The sweet-fruity fig with green-floral accents defines the heart of the composition and is rounded off by warm, spicy cedar wood in the base.

The design

"The chic, purist flakons in the trendy ‘Apothecary’ design not only bring traditional craftsmanship into the 21st century," says Michaela Gonzalez, "many natural ingredients react with UV light and can thus lose their effectiveness.” This is one reason why pharmacists have traditionally tinted their glasses and jars brown. The side effect? A unique, minimalist bottle with an unmistakable recognizability that fits wonderfully into any hotel bathroom.

Beauty: Pharmacy style

Whether in fragrance stores, beauty salons or drugstores: premium products with natural formulas and a medically inspired retro aesthetic are among the favorites of conscious individuals and also inspire the design-loving consumer. A unique collection that will now also enrich the hotel interior.
